Our Studio team have specialist skills, all of which are regularly asked for by our clients to help them deliver projects on their networks. Whether it’s wayfinding, artworking, construction design, integration or another studio discipline, we have the knowledge and expertise to guide our clients’ projects through these specialist skills to ensure a compliant product that meets with all aesthetical requirements and compliance standards.

Wayfinding and Mapping

Our team can visit your station and complete a scope and survey which we will then build into a signing strategy and wayfinding scheme. We work within our clients standards and help evolve and develop these if required. All this information is assembled into a Signage Schedule which we will then work with project stakeholders to progress through the approval process. 

We also help our clients complete mapping projects. We regularly complete exercises at a station exit showing onward travel routes and local information.

Construction Design

The Construction Design team at Transport Signs will complete the detailed design of each of the products that we’re supplying and will also complete CADs of these products too. 

The team will ensure that the product meets with the necessary specifications and will also ensure that the signs can be fabricated and installed safely by our install crews.  

Best build practices are considered and we lean on our depth of knowledge in this sector to ensure that what we design is durable for many years.

Integration design

This is the process of combining two or more products in an effective way. Once the sign has been designed, the way that it integrates with the building is critically important.

At Transport Signs, we work with our clients and our clients’ subcontractors to effectively integrate our products with the station building. This often means that we’re liaising with contractors supplying wall linings, ceilings, ground works, steelwork, electricals, communications, etc.

Transport Signs always take a proactive approach to this complex integration process to ensure that our products arrive at the station and are installed correctly first time.

Structural design

We work hand in hand with a number of structural engineers to ensure that the product we are designing meets all crowd and wind loadings. Our engineer often liaises with the appointed engineer on projects to agree standards, materials, construction method and to provide further assurance.  Our CAD team will then ensure that the engineers requirements are incorporated into the product drawings ahead of fabrication.
