Signage installation

How we delivered:

The Hornsea 3 offshore wide farm will be located 160km from the Yorkshire Coast Line. Transport Signs created a robust delivery plan to support this renewable energy project by providing the highway and road signage required for the remodelling of roads and junctions to allow the cabling to be installed.

Our scope of works included the supply and installation of Lattix passively safe signposts, which are designed to bend under any vehicle in the event of a collision, in order to minimise injury to vehicle occupants. Installation was completed by a HIAB during a night shift, as there was a requirement for road closures to ensure safe installation.

To facilitate the installation a detailed work package plan, risk assessment and method statements were developed along with sign off check sheets for each signpost and sign.

Results:

The signage was all fabricated in 1050 Aluminium complete with R2/RA2 reflective vinyl which is regulated by transport authorities. Known for its durability and long-lasting performance, R2/RA2 reflective vinyl is designed to withstand harsh weather conditions, which ensures that road signs remain highly visible and effective over an extended period.

Following the installation of the Lattix posts, signage panels were installed some of which required lifting in place by a HIAB and the use of a truck mounted boom to ensure safe access to the rear of the signs for locating the panels into place and the tightening of clips.
